Sustainable Whidbey Coalition

Sustainable Whidbey Coalition

The Sustainable Whidbey Coalition is a network of leaders directly involved in fostering sustainability on Whidbey Island. The Coalition was formed in the fall of 2007 as a significant collaborative response to global climate change and local implications. Since then, SWC has brought tax-supported entities and private organizations together monthly to:

Demonstrate a long-term commitment to Island sustainability.
Act as a HUB of information and resources related to collaboration about sustainability on Whidbey Island.
Provide professional education about best practices in sustainability.
Serve as a starting place and think tank for collaborative efforts; project ideas are surfaced at Coalition meetings with project teams launched as needed.
Provide support and technical assistance for project design and fund development.
Provide a link to the Island County Council of Governments on sustainability issues and projects
