Island Beach Access


 The Mission of Island Beach Access (IBA) is to identify, map, survey, rescue and preserve public access to the shorelines of Island County for the legal and rightful use of its citizens and future generations.

In carrying out its mission, Island Beach Access:

  • Works cooperatively with local and state government officials to recognize, survey, enforce, publicize and provide proper signage for each location of public beach access that exists as a matter of law or is acquired by the public for enjoyment by citizens of Island County, Washington.
  • Educates and encourage members of the public to respect property rights, both public and private, practice proper beach etiquette learn the laws affecting public and private property rights practice respect and conservation of the flora and fauna of the beach environment.
